Biographical Text
Richard Foster, a portrait and landscape artist, was born in Paddington on the 6th June 1945 and was brought up in Norfolk. He was educated at Harrow, Trinity College, Oxford, Studio Simi (Florence), and City and Guilds of London Art School. He has been a member of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters since 1976, and former Honorary Treasurer (2003-2006) and Vice President (1991-1993). He has also been a member of the Art Workers Guild since 1980. He has done commissions for The Royal Collection, The Prince of Wales, The National Portrait Gallery, National Trust, Oxford and Cambridge Colleges, Eton College and Harrow School, and many others.
