Fleming was born in Burnside, Glasgow. She studied at Glasgow School of Art from 1953-1958, and at Patrick-Allan-Fraser School of Art, Hospitalfield, Arbroath. She was a member of the Royal Sociery of Watercolourists, and exhibited at the Royal Glasgow Institute of Fine Arts. She lived in Crail, Fife until her death in 1988.
