Description
Sir Hector Hetherington graduated MA from the University of Glasgow in 1910 and became assistant to the Professor of Moral Philosophy. He held this post for four years before moving to Sheffield and then Cardiff. He returned to Glasgow in 1924 to take up the position of Professor of Moral Philosophy.
Hetherington was Principal of the University of Glasgow from 1936 to 1961. He was made an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Faculty of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 1949.
