This quartz hone is from the surgical case of surgeon and medical officer, Dr Harry Russell Lillie (-1990). It was used for sharpening blades.
The hone is held within a brown cardboard sleeve with gold lettering reading ‘Forest Fire Prevention Conserves Fish and Wild-Life.’
