James Orr was born in Glasgow and now lives and paints in Ayrshire. He studied part-time at Glasgow School of Art under John Boyd RGI and William Crosbie. His paintings relate to real life with bold colour and confident brushstrokes marking his work. He exhibits regularly in the annual RSA and RGI exhibitions as well as in several London galleries. His work is held in a number of collections, notably in the personal collection of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh.
