Title A name given to the resource Portrait of James McArthur, PRCPSG 1988-1990 Description An account of the resource Standing half-length portrait of McArthur wearing college robes. James McArthur graduated MBChB from the University of Glasgow in 1951, going on to become a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1956. McArthur spent the majority of his career working as a consultant surgeon at the Victoria Infirmary in Glasgow. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 1970, serving as a councillor and eventually president from 1988-1990. During his time as president, he played a vital role in setting up the Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship Examination.
