We also hold deposited archive collections from some of the physicians and surgeons who have been associated with the College over hundreds of years. Connecting to our locality in the West of Scotland, we also hold many records relating to local medical societies and associations. Title A name given to the resource Photograph of David Yellowlees Description An account of the resource Photograph of David Yellowlees, past president of the College. David Yellowlees graduated MD in 1857 from the University of Edinburgh. At the start of his career he worked at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary as the assistant to William Gairdner. He also worked at the Royal Asylum of Edinburgh in Morningside. The majority of his career was spent as Physician Superintendent of the Royal Asylum of Glasgow at Gartnavel, becoming a leader in the care of mental diseases.
