Born in Dollar in 1833, Alexander Duncan from London University with a Bachelor of Arts. He started off his career as a teacher, but was eventually appointed as Secretary and Librarian of the Faculty by Dr J. Gibson Fleming. During his time as Librarian he published two of the library, one in 1885 and one in 1901, as well as writing a history of the Faculty up until 1851.

Half-length portrait of Alexander Duncan wearing a black coat and holding a book.

Born in Dollar in 1833, Alexander Duncan from London University with a Bachelor of Arts. He started off his career as a teacher, but was eventually appointed as Secretary and Librarian of the Faculty by Dr J. Gibson Fleming.
